Yea the flat 3 in midfield is killing us, one simple pass through the our midfield and we are done, Tonali should be deep.
Fair enough mate. Let's say, for argument's sake, that Hall is still out (he wasn't even on the bench today). Do you stick with Burn, play Alex Murphy, or try something else completely?
That was about getting a goal towards the last 5 mi utes of a game mate. Come on read the room. You don’t piss about with the ball when trying to get an equaliser. Ah erm awkward…/ that’s what we did. Another eddie Howe **** up away from home.
That’s a good question. Burn is terrible at left back. I would be tempted to go with Murphy. But I would probably put Burn in at CB in place of Botman to give him a rest.
That is possibly the most ironic post ever. Anyway we lost to Brighton, it wasn't get, but I didn't have high hopes. We move on and players come back.
Gordon, Elanga and Barnes have been that **** i'd be tempted to put Joelinton/Ramsey/Willock on the wing for a game to send the 3 of them a message that they need to get their act together, none of them are doing anything worthwhile. Not that i think it will happen.
If EITHER one one of Hall or Tino were fit, then I'd be tempted to try the 3x CB again with any combo of Tino, Hall, Murphy as wing backs. Gordon playing off Woltemade (in the absence of a true #10 in the squad). Losing both Hall and Tino is really hurting us. EDIT: and I still rate Joelinton and think generally he should start, but equally I think Ramsey offers something different and in that formation (3 CBs & wing backs) is the right formation to have a more attacking midfielder like him, with Bruno & Tonali commanding the centre).
Yes I agree mate. It’s not ideal losing both wing backs. The worrying thing for me is that Howe is seen to be a genius but we line up the same every week. We always seem to lose against mid table teams away from home. If we want to become an elite top 6 side we have to stop this ****.
Yeah, Elanga isn't looking great. It's really early days, so not going to write him off, but it's looking worryingly Barnes like. Pushing the boat out moneywise for the PL experience on Elanga and once again our best signings in Woltemade and Thiaw didn't have any.
I suspect Thiaw and Woltemade are players Nickson was after. We only got them because everything else fell apart.
Those two are looking absolute class atm. I hope they continue. Why we spent so long chasing Guehi (as his price was going up and up), when we were already linked with Thiaw well over a year ago now amazes me.
I suspect someone finally got their way when everything else fell apart and if true it's a good thing, because now everyone knows.
Two full backs and a couple of fwds to play with Woltemade and we're laughing.... No more **** like Elanga though .. Let Nickson find someone.
Yeah, there'll be so many factors involved, including price, other ("bigger") clubs bidding, players wanting to come to NUFC, etc, etc. But whatever goes.on behind the scenes, I think we've bought a couple of aces there. Elanga will hopefully come good too, but he seems to have lost the basics - or confidence.
Just imagine: could've not spent on Barnes, kept Anderson and Minteh, sold Almiron, not bought Elanga.
If only. That would make us look a bit different. BUT, that is exacrly why PSR is there. Keep us down, for a little while at least. Nobody at the club wanted to sell those two, aside from meeting financial regs.
I didn't realise it, but Newcastle have only won 2 games in their last 18 games. That's including pre season, but still that's really ****.
How are you getting to that? This season we've won 2 league games, a league cup game and. A Champions League game. You are forgetting about these yet for some reason including pre season games.
