Good hard fought victory . Carey looks a player. Defensively we are strong. Made it hard for ourselves in the second half. One of the worst refereeing displays I have seen in a long time. Jones deserves praise for getting us playing as a team.
I thought we looked worse when Kelman and TC came off. As I've said previously I'm not sure Olafe or Apter are an improvement on TC, but maybe he could do with a break from the starting 11. Leaburn looked tidy, and maybe a start for him over Kelman would help Charlie. The only chance he had he made himself from a long ball, we aren't creating for him at all. Sonny Carey has been miles better than I expected, we've got an absolute bargain there!
Good assist by Campbell for Carey’s goal. Ok Sheff Wed weren’t great but you can only beat what is in front of you.
Well, that was harder than it needed to be. I said to my son at HT that Wednesday would come at us. I agree with Putters that we looked worse after Kelman and Campbell were hooked. Leaburn is poor. Carey had been the surprise package this season so far (top scorer now with 3 goals). Knibbs & Costello seem destined for minor roles unless Docherty & Coventry are out.
I know you don’t like him. But he didn’t underhit it. I am really pleased we won. But coming on a Charlton forum after a win is ****ing depressing. Carey and Bell standouts, decent first half performance, we were second best after that until Kaminski sat down and NJ gave them a rocket, especially Leaburn, who pulled his socks up after that. Shocking decision by the ref to play on after the goalie wiped Oloafe out. Was it the lino who got in his ear?
Wednesday are the whipping boys of this division but if you were a neutral today you would not have known who was in the bottom three.
Leaburn is playing as if he’s sulking, maybe he’s missing his shy & retiring Mum organising the tunnel jumps and sitting at the front of the team bus ? Something is amiss there.
