We're doing OK. Haven't played any of the big guns yet, but 7th after 7 games is a good place to be in.
I don't know Lardi, Leicester, Sheffield United and Bristol City could probably all be counted as big guns in the division. I'm not getting overly excited though, I'm still very much in the camp that steering clear of relegation this season is the only important thing!
I was thinking more of Boro, Stoke, Preston, West Brom. And of course Wrexham But we have not done too badly so far. The likes of Blackburn we should be looking to beat at home, but the manner of the win was most heartening.
We haven't been outplayed in any game yet. We've got cover in every position and a stronger bench than ever. I can't see a relegation struggle.
We're keeping clean sheets and atm have a system that is working, long may that continue. However, four of the next five games being away could see a drastic change in the table after this run of games. Either way, it has been a fantastic start to the season.
Whilst we have beaten the bottom two teams, both performances were very ordinary. We need to improve with our performances if we are to keep away from a bottom six finish.
it is results that are important. Performances without a win are as much use as a chocolate fire guard. We will stay up, if we don’t I will give £100 to a charity of your choice.
Jones-ball will never have fans in raptures. It’s the footballing equivalent of wearing a girdle - ugly, uncomfortable, but very effective when needed. You cannot argue with our current league position, although we now have a very tough set of fixtures coming up.
With the next two games being away, by Hull it will have been five aways from seven, if we do not lose both games I will say this has been a rather satisfactory period of games. There is still a big but for me that we can sustain this though.
