Boumsong, Babayaro, Luque, Riviera, Bassedaa, Marcelino, Guivarc'h, Amdy Faye, Cabella, Cordone, Cort, Maric, blah blah blah....??
The only fix we need is Hall, Tino and Wissa fit and playing. Our fullbacks are our biggest problem. Elanga needs to seriously improve also. That's it. Our problems really aren't that major.
I genuinely don't believe Howe will ever risk a youngster until we literally have no one. To me, this is his biggest flaw as manager
He likes to gradually introduce players. At least it's not like Kenny Dalgleish raiding the old folks home.
GK.....is a major issue. Watch that second goal, Nick Pope does static dives, he gets no closer to the ball be diving than he would if he just stood there and put his hand out. his kicking is ****ing ****, his ball control is even worse than that and his decision making is even worse still.
We are playing too poorly given the players we have and the money we’ve spent. I don’t think there’s anyone would or could disagree. It’s a problem that needs solving. Thats kinda it, really. Howe needs to work it out, we can’t just keep getting beaten regardless of what coulda/shoulda happened. A free transfer has outscored a £70m forward, we’ve spent a fortune yet have trippier and burn at full back today, we’re expecting Harvey Barnes and will Osula to get us a draw. Frustrating situation at Newcastle right now. Hopefully Howe can steer us out but as it stands it feels like there will be a lot more frustration in the coming weeks sadly.
But it gets masked behind stats and clean sheets, as if pope is somehow a world beater. I’d say look at Tommy tickles squad - pope is nowhere near it, because he’s just not very good. Thats got to be on the manager who decided a loan backup was all that was needed.
It's ok to point these things out. I just can't understand why Burn is played at left back and I don't buy into the idea there's no other option. If he'd put Joelinton there we'd have shut down minteh more successfully.. Burn couldn't get near him... Jesus even Gordon could be trained into a better full back than Burn. We simply do nothing to address the situation, so we'll never be able to say there's no other option.
We have Ramsdale ready and waiting. If we want a keeper significantly better than either of our two current options it will cost a lot more money than we will want to part with.
He does, start paying attention to it. His hand position remains the same distance from the ball its just his feet get further away
I don't think that would've worked either. Tripps will always position himself far too narrow. Minteh would have had even more freedom than he did against Burn.
You've got a point there. 5 at the back then? But then everyone would say that's too defensive against a team like brighton. Don't know what the answer would be.
