Strange game. In the end made it look more difficult than it should have been, but back to back wins for the first time in forever should be cause for celebration. Select your top three, in order.
Real tough call this week! Hughes, despite his brainfart for the pen. Egan, despite being lucky not to get a red Slater
1 Haji, felt like we as a team looked a lot more open after he went off and he did a really good job of doing the boring unglamorous stuff for 65 mins 2 slater, best game in a long time, all action 3 Gelhardt, better 2nd than first half, always a danger when he gets the ball, linked up REALLY well with Drameh hit tips to Drameh and tree who had great games as subs
Great win and on another day we could have put five past them. But a win is a win and this was a good one. 1. Slater. immense. 2. Hughes, despite him conceding a stupid last minute penalty. 3. Crooks. A great second half subs performance. .. Mentions too for Geldhart, Egan, Joseph ( unfair not to award him the goal ) Miller, Drameh, Coyle and in fact all of them. No-one let us down.
Excellent 3 points . 1. Slater - workrate , tackles, interceptions and a lovely headed goal . 2. Hughes - solid at the back with some in Important blocks and tackles . 3. Mac Beastie - a surprise to see him subbed after another battling display and an assist . Another battling team performance. Not sure if the Referee helped or hindered us , but feel sure Birmingham will be moaning . Both Stansfield and the Keeper could have seen red cards but Crooks should have gone for 2 yellows when Egan got a yellow instead . Well done boys Come on City
Amir Slater Geldhard. Hughes would have been up there apart from his two ****ing brain farts. Special, mentions to McBurnie, Coyle, Egan, Crooks
Slater for the workrate, confidence and the cracking header. Amir for the blocks and the defensive midfield masterclass. Pandur for the saves he did make. Couldn't do much about the goals he let in really, made some vital saves as Birmingham pressed.
Slater - showed the boo--boys (again!) Hughes - excellent other than a moment of madness for the pen Egan - the quiet, consistent one
1. Slater - Best performance by him for a long time, great goal, looked to get forward & get the ball forward, did ok defensively too. 2. Gelhardt - Had a few chances to score, but passes were great, the lay off to Drameh was excellent & if Drameh scores, its goal of the season stuff. 3. Egan - I didn’t think we were great at the back, but Egan was the most solid, I think we missed Lundstrum today.
