Todays game was even bigger than most games this season. Your happy to get a point against teams like City, Liverpool and Chelsea but also put it down on your pre-season plans as a no win situation.
As a management team these are the games you tell your players you need to win, as Wolves manager would have done aswell against us. Today was huge for us.

That result and 3 points is huge. we were organised and defended well.

we did invite a lot of pressure which, against a better team, could have cost us. Nordi was superb and Hume was solid out of position. Xhaka added much needed composure. I also thought RLB did well with the subs. Talbi added a lot when he can on.

The team did us proud today , a couple of obvious tweaks and we have every chance of not just surviving but thriving in this tough tough league. The run up to Xmas is the next test. The foundations have been laid . OaU

Fantastic 3 points that. Yes we tailed off second half, but I'd be interested to see how many air miles our lads travelled during the international break. The first goal was a sublime move. Brilliant, upto 7th place.

Get in there Danny Wellbeck laaadddd <laugh>

Its just such a massive result, that!

    We look so assured defensively.

Lap all this up, this is the good stuff, it's what we've been dreaming of. HWTFL!!!

Good point. Hopefully the lads can recharge their batteries as more European games come along for some our rivals.

Looking at it from a slightly different angle, 14 points from 8 games means we're over a 1/3 of the way to safety pointswise with about 1/5 of the season gone. It's a huge step, especially getting points off a potential relegation rival now.

Traore looks like a squad filler signing, hes not that good really is he?
I hope Mundle can come in and do what Ballard, Hume and Isidor have done and instantly adapt. The wide areas definitely need to be strengthened in Jan though imo

Interviewed the tremendous Nordi Mukiele post-match who said this to me:

“I don’t score a lot of goals but when I do I have to enjoy it like a kid! The most important thing is I scored as part of a win. Trai Hume gave me a perfect ball - a good cake and I just had to finish!

The celebration and hand gesture was something I said I’d do for my girlfriend if I scored - so I did it! Was really happy to do that!

Really happy. My first goal at home. Big three points. We played really well.

Our fans really helped us today - they always do. Every game. Away or home it’s the same. We love what they give to us.”

Its not like we have a few European internationals gping away these days. We now have lads flying thousands of miles, through various time zones and then playing a couple of games. It's got to have taken its toll on them the last few days. I'd be resting a few of them up before the next match

Its mental that teams like Man Utd throw stupid money to sign players and we got Muki and Alderete for under 50m

Another 3 fantastic points, excellent first half, tired a bit in the second but more than enough to beat a poor Wolves team.Proud of all those lads this season.

Roefs for £10 million has to be the bargain buy of the season

I still have to pinch myself to believe how far we've come. How lucky are we to have signed all the players we did over the summer and they have just gelled into the team we see before us. A long way to go in the season but all the signs are good.

Agreed. Roefs is another level though.
