We played well for all of 30 minutes today. Swansea were piss poor, they really had nothing but hit it long into the channel. They had no threat through the middle at all and so I was really hoping we'd be proactive and take a CB off at HT to get an extra creative/attacker on. That we left all 3 CBs on for the entire game really pissed me off tbh. Even though we were average at best for 65 minutes, we should have been scoring some of those chances, really just no idea how Jander managed to miss from there. Our shooting was embarrassingly bad. We also took far, far too long to make changes. Just simply not good enough again today, the game was there for the taking. My long, long wait for a win will now go on to at least 364 days...
They were clear chances though, Armstrong just has a frustrating habit of taking first time weak shots when he has time to do better. Fair enough on the proper saves bit, but that's more down to Archer and Armstrong not being that good rather than the tactics to actually generate the opportunities.
I would have quite liked the option of Edozie off the bench today, but I appreciate that he's probably not match fit. I don't know the rules these days regarding U21 matches, but I assume we're allowed to play some over age players? Getting some gametime into him and Aribo wouldn't go a miss. Especially with a regular diet of midweek football between now and January.
It's worth mentioning again just how much of a ****ing failure the 'call and response' team sheet was. Hilarious. Hopefully means they'll be chucking that idea straight in the bin.
They only said the first name of each player and wanted the fans to shout the second. Went about as well as a piss up in Iran.
Just watched those highlights above. 2x decent saves whole game. The header just before HT & Armstrong’s shot which led to Janders chance. I can’t see how it’s a positive especially as Swans looked pretty poor all over. Opinions tho ?
2 wins in 10 championship games. 2 home wins since we beat WBA in the play off semi final 4 league wins in 56 games since we beat Leeds at Wembley. And yet some people still vehemently stick up for the club and manager. The lack of ambition or passion for the club to do well astonishes me sometimes.
You're not related to the Bristol mong who was showing everyone his knife in the Saints end at Ashton Gate in 1979 are you?
Flip side. Only 2 losses in 10 Championship games. Unbeaten in 4 Another @Le Tissier's Laces thread incoming tomorrow
