I am watching a team that really hasn't progressed much for too many years which makes me believe that dull mediocrity has become the norm. This line-up today is indicative of previous mismanagement and poor transfer business and a lot of that has to be down to someone who has way too much authority than he knows how to handle with professionalism. At least we should be grateful that we have Armstrong coming off the bench to join an already dysfunctional outfit.
His distribution is still poor, though. Too many times it's been wayward or in to touch. Agree on Vyner, doing his best, but it unsettles the defence. Tanner has improved massively the last 12-18 months, but he's an RB, not an RCB or RWB - square pegs and round holes at the moment.
I think this game is perfect for Mayulu, space in the Norwich box is plentiful, get a ball to his feet and he will score. Sadly, Gerrard will bring on the big unit who has zero chance of scoring if he was the only player on the pitch
Mehmeti frustrates the hell out of me with his play and the chances he misses through taking the ball too far on his own.
I get it, but he’s still the only one who creates anything. It was his cross for the goal and he causes havoc for defenders, but we don’t have anyone else who can take advantage of that chaos Twine can’t score with a moving ball
Good away win which was a potential banana skin. Special mention to Armstrong. If I was in charge he’d be loaned out to L1 but his efforts down the right and cut-back was spot on. It should have been 0-2 from that move. Still wouldn’t be in my squad though…….
On paper, and in the table, we got ourselves a vital win today and it may end up with LM facing severe scrutiny from his bosses. Both teams out there were poor to say the least but I was expecting more from Norwich that never really happened.
Atkinson and Dickie did well but Vitek's save gave us the points. We deserved it though and not sure if Manning will last much longer.
Their keeper made a couple of decent saves too - (not as good as Vitek admittedly) plus we hit the post. If we hadn’t have won that it would have been a tad harsh. Not a great display of football by either side though……
