The comments made recently by Tuchel about the ‘flat’ atmosphere at Wembley got me reflecting about our own stadium.
Sometimes, I’m sad to say, the atmosphere IS a bit flat at BS3 and the away fans in the Atyeo stand seem louder at times - but away fans (including our own) do tend to be more vocal.
When I’ve been to away games our fans give it loud, but at home we seem to sit quietly - apart from the Singing section in the corner - and maybe therein lies the problem? Maybe having our loudest fans in the corner rather than across one of the ends restricts the noise? I seem to remember the old East End making loads of noise. Perhaps the away fans should be located in a corner instead of the Atyeo?
Back to Tuchel’s comment I have found the same at Wembley when I’ve gone to watch City and also when Ive watched international games on TV.
There are some exceptions - our playoff final against Hull was an incredible noise - and when we beat Man U at Ashton Gate was amazing, but for your regular league game it’s pretty ‘meh’.

This fan puts a point of view across about England at Wembley. Not sure I totally agree but I get what he’s saying. Having a stadium full of ‘tanked up’ testosterone fuelled blokes would bring it’s own issues.

Wembley is full of families. The stadium has been controlled to create a family friendly environment. Ashton Gate is similar. The redevelopment did not prioritise creating a stadium with atmosphere. The singing section was bunged in the corner post design.

According to the fans forum debate the other night we'll look to move on Tinnion's striking misfits.
An admission of his incompetence and with only 1 fit midfielder till Christmas the Gate will be like a Morgue.
What really p*sses me off is that Tinnion has wasted us having a proper goalkeeper, he might even be recalled in January.
O'leary will be back.........Mediocrity sums us up perfectly.

Used to attend every game at wembley till it was redeveloped. after that the whole thing was gentrified and theres nowhere for lads who drive the atmosphere to gather together thats not the modern wembley is about.

Ashton gate is **** now for atmosphere because that how the bristol sport bean counters wanted it. the singing section v the east end is one ****ing **** sketch.

Modern football is also very sober no more doing six seven eight punts prematch along street north and south you need big balances for that.

todays ashton gate would have no appeal to me as a young un who got hooked by a swaying noisy smoking chanting drinking east end modern ashton gate is cant do this cant do that cant put that there and if you can you will do it in the **** singing section and only the **** singing section.

Perhaps if Tinnion were to get the boot he deserves and the quality of the team improved greatly due to his departure then the atmosphere would improve. Mediocrity is boring.
