Clarke had been at Ipswich for a year now and hasn't really had a run of games there. Without the money we got for him we wouldn't have been able to put it into the pot for the players we bought in but they longer it goes on it just seems more and more that Harte gave him the wrong advice in signing there
Yeah I saw. He was great for us and I just think looking from the outside his career is seemingly going backwards. He never seems to be given a run in the team. I just feel disappointed in the way his career seems to be going
Did he know he wasn't good enough for us? Did we cash in? Any regrets? Will always remember his goal v Reading away. Hope he is happy.
I think we cashed in in a way. THAT goal at Reading was sublime. He did really well while he was here and it was mutually beneficial IMO. He got a move to the Premier but was it really the right move? Footballers want to play each game and although that's not really possible for some these days, Clarke doesn't really seem as an integral part of that side
Agree, wonder if he ever regrets what might have been if he'd stayed. He'd have been starting tomorrow for me.
The best memory I've got of Clarke is when the grandson got his picture taken with him. He was that nervous (grandson not Clarke!) the grandson was absolutely bouncing afterwards
