I was looking for cooking tips not a lecture I'm shook.

After a lifetime of fascination with the notion of treasure hunting, I decided to purchase a MD. I ordered it last night, an Ace 250, and I can't wait for it to arrive!

When I told my bud about it today, though, he said that metal detecting is for "weird old guys..." and that it's "nerdy."

His comments didn't offend or discourage me...they just confused me.

At the age of 18, I am not an old guy, and I do not consider myself weird or nerdy.

Is this really the stereotype associated with this awesome hobby? Why?
