It's all very sad, the place I still think of as home is unravelling.

Yeah I feel really sad about it. I think people have got themselves in a right mess. The Tories are largely to blame and Labour need rid of a couple of knackers at the top to give this period of time some hope.

For the 3rd or 4th time on this thread, for the oldies that are losing their memory <laugh>

    THIS IS REFORMS POLICY

Put an instant ban on anybody claiming asylum that comes over on boats. That will render it completely pointless.

Make 2 billion available to offer payments and aid to countries such as Afghanistan and Eritrea. These are the main countries that people on the boats are coming from. Any country uncooperative with this will face heavy sanctions. Missing out on money and facing heavy sanctions is a good incentive for desperate countries to go along with this.

Anybody that does come on a boat will be immediately arrested, detained and then deported. Removal centres to be built in remote parts of the country. In the meantime, disused RAF bases will be used for holding these people.

If people are unable to be deported for whatever reason then we’ll use overseas territories such as Ascension Island should more room be required.

Leave the ECHR and replace the Human rights act with a British Bill of rights which will only apply to UK citizens and people legally allowed to be here. Therefore removing any protection and rights these people coming over on boats currently have.

    ———————————————

Question answered. Everyone can read that and will now know their policy whether they think it’s good or bad. Agree or disagree with it.

It's all totally unworkable and would be incredibly expensive.

Taking Ascension Island as just one example, it's an isolated spec 1000 miles from anywhere.

The cost of housing hundreds/thousands of people, indefinitely, would be enormous as would clothing, heating, food, etc.

The camps would have to have security personnel, medical facilities, doctors, etc.

The island has around 1000 inhabitants so there aren't the people available to staff or manage such an operation and there aren't enough facilities.

I doubt the inhabitants would tolerate the idea and I doubt the RAF would be prepared to provide transport.

Absolute nonsense for Farage to even suggest it but no surprise, that's my opinion.

Well after Brexit we have record immigration.

I don’t think it needs much explanation but the consensus of experts at the time of the referendum told us this would happen. They were right and Nigel Farage was wrong. Yet people still think this cancer in British politics can solve the problem.

Thanks to Farage the NE lost ERDF and ESF funding which was a big loss.

The luxury of being a protest politician is the creation of unworkable plans. Sadly with the backing of his non dom billionaires he can convince a few that they are workable.

As I said I don't drive I have no idea where you can buy petrol in any quantity but you already know that don't you? Everything is cheaper up North including the price of labour. Feel free to emigrate here to access it. People from all over the world are moving to Sunderland I have noticed.

Massively true. It’s precisely outliers like the north east, wales, Cornwall that benefitted. I think if people knew and understood this it would have changed the vote
