Australia have two games in the break -the first against Canada has been played. Matthews was on the bench but did not get a run on the pitch. Ex Pompey Robertson is also in the aussie squad but was not selected for the start or the bench - which is not entirely surprising since i understand he has not yet played for Cardiff this season. Australia won 0-1 but were un-convincing - particularly in the mid field - so it is possible Robertson may get a look in for the next game which is against the USA,
Makenzie Kirk scored a nice headed goal for Northern Ireland Under 21's against against Malta the other day.
Matthews and Robertson were both on the bench fir Australia's second match but neither of them got on the field. the USA won the match 2-1.
