In light of the Press conference news

    _______________Roefs

    Hume____Mukiele______Ballard____Masuaku

    ______________Xhaka

    ___________Sadiki________Le Fee

    Talbi___________Isidor________Adingra

Subs: Patto, 09, Neil, Rigg, Traore, Mayenda, Brobbey, Geertrudia, Alderete

OR could we go 5 at the back?

    _______________Roefs

    _______Mukiele__Ballard___Geertrudia

    Hume_____________________________Masuaku

    ___________Xhaka__Sadiki___Le Fee

    __________Mayenda_______Wilson

However I do like the look of the team @TopCat. posted.

In fact I would rather go with that, but happy to trust RLB and the coaches

True, but even if you don't - it would surely benefit the clubs and the players. Let's face it - International football is going nowhere, so if they can come up with a solution that improves the situation for the clubs, then all the better.

How about this for the back 4 if Alderete isn’t fully fit.

    Mucky. Ballard. O’Nien. Hume.

Dan and Luke know how each other play and will have no problem getting back together.
I’d love it for Luke to officially play as a Premier League player.
Luke was the ever present last season with DAN and Chris Mepham coming in and out. Every manager has picked him. Nobody thinks Dan is out of his depth in the Premier League and I don’t think Luke will be either.
I’m not convinced with Masuaku yet so Mucky can do RB with Trai moving over to LB.

Gerty can be used in the midfield depending on Sadiki’s fitness.

As well as our game, Leeds going to Burnley and Brentford going to West Ham makes this a massive weekend. What a start if we can get 3 points here!

We have Reinildo back this weekend after his ban, so swapping Hume to the left would be silly..
As much as id like to see Onien given a chamce in the Prem we cant let our hearts rule our heads. He's just not at the level of the other options we have available so he can keep doing his thing on the bench and in the dressing room and keep the lads motivated.

Ffs just seen he got a 3 game ban and not 2, which makes him kicking out even more annoying. I stand by with what ive said though.

    ⚪️ Loved this answer from
Regis Le Bris when I asked him about @LukeONien ‘s incredible journey from non-league to @premierleague :

️ “He’s a really good example of what we want to build as a club. We want to learn. You can have your own journey - but his mentality is absolutely fantastic.

“He shows every day a willingness to learn. He’s a really good example for Sunderland.” #SAFC

I think I'd be going Le fee on the left, purely because wolves' right back Tchatchoua isn't getting beaten for pace by anyone so someone more creative rather than purely running ability in adingra feels more logical.

Although that's if Sadiki could play because otherwise I'd have Le fee next to xhaka and Talbi on the left.

Getting draws with Brighton and Spurs shows these are no mugs. Hopefully their 1st win is delayed again and with home advantage we can claim another 3 points. I am going for 2-1.

Cheers RTB for the usual superb write up.

Maybe it's the international break, but I haven't been buzzing this much about a game for a while.
