Free movement advocates trying to pour scorn on people thinking of moving is quality. The ones liable to move to the States, by definition would be people capable of providing for themselves. Those people are currently a net gain to the UK. They are liable to be replaced by people that are a net loss which means others would have to provide even more. It's a doom loop.

The system they're pushing punishes high achievers. There are something like twice as many people on £99k as there are on £101k, as people avoid that demarcation as it brings in a lot of other expenses that would make a pay rise, a loss in available income. It means that the ones daft enough to go for those sort of salaries are unlikely to be the best. As has been said many times, the Laffer curve and 6th form economics are not likely to help fill the government pockets. If electronic surveillance and ID for open information is so good, let's see it applied to all political processes and spending first so we can see it in action. Under current proposals, MP's would be exempt from electronic ID.

They said releasing basic info on staff numbers, flagged post claims, etc. would somehow hinder their ability to "monitor and address" online activity. So they won't disclose which influencers they're paying while also blocking info on their secret spying operation, which is likely liaising with police if they find "speech offences".
