Thinking about getting a ticket for this. Also thinking about bleeding the radiators at my mum’s house. Decisions, decisions…
I'm not fussed personally. We've looked better as a back 3 this season (low bar, I know) and I've never quite agreed with the notion that a back 3 is more defensive than a back 4.
Nor am I too much but I think for Swansea at home I would go with a 4-2-3-1, especially with no Stewart. Archer as striker, with proper wingers on both sides. And Jelert at RB.
Could arguably have seen us going back to a 4 for this game regardless. Without the 'big' striker, we probably need an extra attacker.
The last time we played consistently well was with a back four. I believe that we have brought in players that fit better in that system. I think that we will have greater control in midfield and better options up front after everyone is bedded in.
Yeah, and he's had a good run here to work on it, so hoping to see more coordinated patterns of play now. Only one missing of note (Manning should know what to do) was Azaz, and at the moment I'm happy for Scienza to have his place.
I always felt with the combination of the Stewart injury and the international break he might go to a back four again and Quarshie injury happening might confirm it. Unless he brings Stephens back in I really hope we can put in a good performance Saturday. Feels like we really need it.
Should we play with 3 CDM’s and no central striker, given that playing downs, archer and Armstrong centrally is a waste of a space? McCarthy Jelert Edwards wood manning Downes Jander Charles Fellows scienza Armstrong
