I was driving past Drax Power Station at around midnight, returning home from a day out with a friend and there were huge clouds of steam rising from its cooling towers as they were busy burning wood pellets to produce electricity. Now why were they producing so much electricity in the middle of the night when we have all those wind turbines that our Net Zero zealots have spent billions on erecting in the North Sea? Officially, Drax is considered to be renewable energy because it no longer burns dirty coal even though it is our biggest CO2 emitter; however, its subsidy will halve in 2027 and the wood pellets are imported so not a huge number of British jobs. It surely could not be anything to do with the High Pressure weather system that is currently camped over the United Kingdom with the wind barely managing to get near to 10mph...
Chopping down and burning trees, who consume CO2 to stay alive, seems stupid. Even stupider is that by burning them to produce 'renewables', all the CO2 they've stored ends up being pumped back into the atmosphere. But no one can tell you how much CO2 should be in the atmosphere because it's a lie that CO2 increases the temperature. Only dullards buy in to it.
How many of the "Greens" are concerned with the ACTUAL environmental impact of pouring thousands of tonnes of concrete into the seabed to house these monstrous eye-sores that provide an unstable power source which in turn, is heavily subsidised by the taxpayer, which is funnelled to another billionaire on another continent?
