Isn’t a sprained ankle like a week or 2? Was when I was a kid I was spraining ankles all the time.

That’s what it said in the Sunderland Echo today.
    Maybe it’s them just guessing.

Can't have had many friends going round spraining people's ankles like that.

Of course it is. They are so clickbaity these days - they come up with the worst case scenario and pass it off as fact so that people will click on their horrific website.

This has a knock on effect that we really need the wingers to step up. Would be ideal to have Enzo as a central midfielder, not on the left. We’re going to need subs and we look like in the middle of the park now. Neil + Rigg more likely to play 30 or 60 mins as opposed to 90 mins I would think. Might be wrong like. Geertruida also an option.

Yeah if it's a slight one that's about right. The grades are right tho on grade 1 grade 2 and grade 3. Grade 3 is the most severe which would indicate a complete tear of a ligament. If he'd done that you wouldn't have seen him walking with a slight limp so it's safe to assume it's a grade 1 or 2. I've done mine over 10 times and the first time I had a grade 2 I was back playing in 6 weeks. A younger fitter lad with significantly better physio than I had I would expect 4/5 weeks max. If its a grade 1 he could be back next week to be fair.

I think enzo has looked best on the left than centre in the games he's played this season

I think we all just need to wait and see - all these predictions about how long he'll be out are pointless. He hasn't been assessed yet and we have absolutely no information about the injury other than a tweet about a "strain"
He was walking reasonably ok on it at the weekend and there was obviously some optimism that he'd play in their 2nd game.

Even if he IS out, it gives opportunities to others. RLB certainly won't be panicking...

Sometimes though the slightly lesser aggressive player (Enzo) look better when he’s the one, he has outstanding talent as we saw last season when he was the star. Now he’s not, sometimes you play well just not as good as the others.
I’m pissed in an airport hoping I make sense. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

It’s good that we have players fighting for places, it’s a long season …

… you’d hope the coaches try people in different positions.

I’d bet Hume is capable of more than we've seen so far.

We really could do with some hg squad players establishing themselves as viable options for the medium term. Far better if they come from within too.

yep I agree with you. Although if you play Enzo left, our central midfield options are Xhaka, Neil and rigg. Leaves us without a bench option if we need to freshen things up.

I know geertruida has played there occasionally but I’m unsure if he’s ever played there regularly or convincingly, and it’s a big step up to do it in the prem. geertruida is a right back who switched to centre back I believe. Might be mistaken.

He seems to be a CDM when operating in the midfield, not similar to Sadiki

Im expecting a middle 3 of Rigg, Xhaka and Le Fee.
