It’s a yes from me. A nice fruity tangy taste to go with the savoury dishes. There a restaurant in Altea just north of Benidorm that specialises in salads. They do all sorts of concoctions. Believe it or not I once had a strawberry and some onion in my mouth at the same time and it was good. Difficult to describe, but good!
Had tandoori pineapple in India once, it was sweet and juicy but also had an incredible chilli heat. That's the ONLY kind of pineapple that should be allowed anywhere near a pizza. Personal favourite is basically a margherita that has jamon iberico and Parmesan shavings hoyed on as soon as it leaves the oven.
I remember doing overtime on a Saturday in an office in Benwell I was working in at the time. Everyone ordered pizzas for lunch i got mesel a small 'yellow pages' pizza which was banana and tuna. It honestly wasn't bad. Never felt the need to have it again but I defo ate it all.
No. I did like it when I was a kid, but now I find the contrasting tastes "wrong" so it doesn't appeal to me anymore. For me my go tos are:- Pepperoni. Ham, mushroom and red onion. Kiev (chicken, mushroom and garlic, preferably but if not just chicken and garlic). Not to say I don't eat other pizzas, but those are my preferred ones.
Reported! Def Yes. Hawaiian pizza would be my first choice. Some of the shop frozen pizzas are disgusting, worst one I've tried was either goodfellas or chicago town. Ristorante was ok. I prefer to buy the bases, then add toppings. They're alright even if you miss out the moz and just use tomato puree and some grated cathedral city, then add further toppings. 1. ham or bacon and pineapple 2. tuna or salmon and sweetcorn 3. cheese and tomato with extra fresh tomatoes on top. 4. anything really, like prawns or beef or chicken. New technology enthusiast RTB orders his pizzas via a special app on his new iphone, after he's asked alexa to research possible toppings. Delivery driver is hopefully using an electric mode of transport!
Add a bit of pineapple to your spicy pizza, trust me you will enjoy it. Pepperoni, chicken, pineapple and chilli flakes with a combo base of pizza sauce and sirracha. Lovely
No to pineapple on a pizza. My favourite is the classic Italian pizza from Casa Rosa in Birtley. Thin stonebaked base, tomato, mozzarella, black olives and rocket. I also like their goats cheese and caramelised onion one.
Not sure about pineapples but they grow things like tomatoes, peppers and strawberries all year round in Iceland. They've got large greenhouses heated by the natural geothermal water. I've been in one! It's really sustainable and self sufficient.
Bring on the ban, absolutely would have pineapple on my pizza, but absolutely no cheese, an abomination created to make everything it adorns taste foul, in my opinion
If I said the word Pizza to my Grandparents or Parents they'd think I was talking in a foreign language
My parents got their first place in 1972. My Mam thought she was being exotic by cooking spaghetti bolognaise the first time her parents came round for tea
