Had almost zero expectations from The Paper (Office spinoff) but it's surprisingly great. It's like a more grown up version of The (American) Office with better writing and more likeable characters.
No where near the best TV series ever, but at the moment I am on about episode 30 of 125 Cagney and Lacey throw backs. A nice little trip down memory lane.
This looks very promising, the books are cracking and it seems like it's going to do them justice, which would make a change. Bit more easygoing than the Game of Thrones books but it's just as dark and brutal when it wants to be. Looking forward to it.
Thoughts on it? Watched the 1st 2 and thought it had potential but missus wasn't into it so that's another one on the list to watch whilst I'm working away,,,
It was ok, definitely got better the further into episodes you got, actually by episode 8 and the finish of the first series, you really wanted episode 9. Easy watch I’d give it a 7.5.
The recent repeats of Fawlty Towers came on and I found them unwatchable, strange as I always thought it was funny … … this time it just seemed really annoying and totally contrived.
It just looks very dated now, ridiculously middle class and has the look of the ‘British Empire’ days about it. I didn't realise how racist and stereotypical it was until the repeats came on … … idiotic Spanish waiters, arrogant Americans, thick Irishman, etc. Basil is basically Alf Garnet is a cravat
