I don't think there will ever be peace - I saw on the news yesterday where 1.2M Afghans had been evicted from Iran, I think the plan is according to a different media source to evict a total of 4M, couldn't be arsed to read the story but think the Iranians accuse the Afghans of being spies for Israel. It's just a vicious cycle, although I saw that Afghan migrant threatened to kill 'our' Nigel, maybe we should be doing the same. the last bit all said tongue in cheek of course.
Religion is a powerful tool to divide us all. It has always worked over time because all religious people believe their skygod is the correct one. That said, even without religion I think we’d still find a way to be divided.

This is not a religious war Jews, Christians and Muslims lived in that land for centuries before the you kno who turned up This is a War fuelled by the Earth Humans not the Sky God Human greed and power is the biggest dividing tool on this Planet
Holy sites in multiple religions is the reason why this part of the world is so bitterly contested though isn’t it? I agree power and greed is nothing to do with religion and maybe some are hiding behind religion as an excuse to commit their crimes but it would be a lot easier to ‘fix’ all this without religion.

not just religion, all different sects. Even the christians in the US have all their different groups and sects. Been reading prisoners of geography recently, just gone past the chapter of the middle east. Sunnis, Shias, Alawaites, Kurds, all people who know who each other are by names etc and how they have co-existed but are all vying for power and don't trust each other
