Yeah defo the deep end he was playing CB for us and a bit lightweight for CM cos he just a kid init and them 2 positions are as you know core strength positions in a team I like him as a young squad player but plenty growing to do yet. He was a typical Levy signing. Even if we sell him when he’s 24 I suspect we get that money back kind of thinking before anything else mentality hope he makes it with us…good kid
It's all about stats mate ... but, tell me Stato, how are Swindon doing this season? Holloway seems to be doing quite well ... and thanks for your interest
Swindon are doing as I expected under Holloway, I said last season, he'd got that season to steady the ship, they were very close to the bottom when he took over and with him getting in the players he wanted for this season, they'd be up there, so much so, I threw 20 at them at 16's to win the league and another 20 at them at 13/2 for promotion. But for you to say that lad is going to be a star of the future is ridiculous, even for you. Leicester are so confident in his ability, they gave him an 18 month contract, where the first part they loaned him to Kilmarnock where he didnt make one appearance, now for the final part of it, he's on loan in league 2. PSG must be rubbing their hands waiting to get him on a free at the end of the season. What Holloway probably meant was he was the best I could get from ANY academy that would let their player drop down to league 2. As with showing an interest, I looked at all the payers mentioned and everyone had a case , as you had with Monga but not that fella, there's no way he's going to be a star player, which is what Saf stated
Holloway on Tom Wilson-Brown ... obviously there are several on here that ate much more knowledgeable ... including me https://the72.co.uk/2025/09/30/leicester-city-tom-wilson-brown-hailed-ian-holloway/
We signed him from Bayern Munich They let him come to us with a 50% sell on clause, I think they were worried Harold might not look worth his transfer fee with him in the side
Othmane Maamma is one who could make a name for himself, Moroccan and is becoming a bit of a star in their under 21 squad
Never heard of a manager bigging up one of his players before, especially after he'd just dropped him to the bench, then giving him 2 minutes at the end, just to shut up shop. Is it new to the game or have others done before? Very radical that.
