I've just watched his interview and I get the impression that big changes are going to start happening over the next couple of years.
Mitchell struck me as overhyped. But the first one was apparently top draw, I think he's been found out now
Think it’s safe to assume both were over hyped, neither of them have stayed at any club long enough to put a stamp on anything. Scouting was never part of Ashworth’s remit and infrastructure was never a part of Mitchell’s remit so we got training ground upgrades off one and the square root of **** all out of the other.
Movement imminent on Sporting Director...... https://x.com/JacobsBen/status/1976...com/jacobsben/status/1976578518311165963?s=46
Should be a good appointment. Although feels like this one has been going on for months. Weren't we linked with him almost as soon as it was announced that Mitchell was leaving?
MSM were naming him as SD pretty much through out the summer but never had a date on when he would actually join (we still dont) but it looks like that will soon change. Hopefully Hopkinson and Wilson push us forward and we actually start to make inroads on commercial deals and player contracts/trading.
He was derided at rangers, right? But at Forest he has had a hand in Milenkovic, Murillo, Aina, Anderson, MGW, Kalimuendo, Elanga for £15m, etc. It’s a decent track record, some clangers but it’s a good hit rate.
