It's typically unrealistic of Hamas apologists to think every individual in Gaza is going to suddenly allow it to be San Francisco 1967. It'll take a long time if it ever happens and there'll be deadly hiccups along the way, retaliation, crying about Israel daring to retaliate i.e. the usual cycle. It's great news it seems short term peace is nearly here but it's naive to think this is genuinely over. It'll out-live us all.

 

It’s unrealistic to think there’s going to be a long lasting peace overnight. But the terms of that ceasefire are that Israel stops the minute their cabinet agreed the peace plan

and they’ve already broken the terms

sort it out.

 

The terms are/were they have 24 hours to withdraw which is happening as we speak. Hamas could always release the hostages a few days early to demonstrate their good faith.

 

San Francisco in 67 had it’s share of drug casualties, Hells Angeis, and of course Charlie Manson. And nearly 60 years later, an era of enduring peace and love is as elusive as ever, especially in California.

On the other hand, Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead still sound brilliant today, and those hippies did arguably hasten the end of the Vietnam War.

What's that got to do with Trump, it was a reporter asking the question - I heard the questions being asked, Trump wasn't even present.

Like I said he had only been in office for 11 days, so to reach the cut off date nominations would have had to of been in by less than 11 days of office.

If this was a year from now I'd say fair enough, so he goes again in one year, surely that's not difficult to understand.

 

Sorry I forget, BBC articles are to be taken as fact of someones interpretation put upon them.

Trump didn't ask anything. A reporter did using his name, as anyone could use his name if they want to make a story, maybe the reporter don't know the rules of when nominations have to be in by and the relevance of that to Trump's term in office was at the time.

 

It's what the media do to sell news.

I stand by what I said, he couldn't win because he had only been in office for 11 days (20th Jan 2025), nominations had to be in by 31st Jan 2025. He was never likely to get nominated in such a brief period of time, this isn't difficult for even you to work out surely.
