Well it’s no surprise that if you allow an international oligarchy to amass all the wealth in the world, they’re going to be buying politicians as well as mansions, yachts and multiple Ferraris.

True story; I did some minicabbing once for Addison Lee, when I was between jobs. Once picked up some investment bankers from Merril Lynch in the City of London and drive them to their Christmas party at the Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair. Earwigged their conversation, obviously. At one point they were talking about some change of government somewhere, one of them said “don’t worry about the new President, we’re going to stuff his pockets with so much cash he won’t be able to pull his trousers up. Then he’ll be our boy.”

I think this was some Third World country they were talking about, but our own politicians are also for sale, of course. Not all, but every man has his price. Thing is, the politicians aren’t the problem, they are at best failing to address the problem, and at worst actively benefiting from the problem. That, 100% is what Reform U.K. are all about.
