    I know....

    I guess it could have been even worse. For reasons that she never cared to share, my mother was intent on naming me Robin. My father wasn't having any of it. He wanted 'Chris'.

    My mother's response to that was..."Yes, but Christopher...with Robin as a middle name." I'd have been ****ing Christopher Robin Martin...

    My mother thought it was 'nice', but then again, she dressed me and my now deceased brother in girls' clothes when we were young kids. Not dresses or skirts, but socks and coats with flowers on them. I was having a tough enough time at school, without being Pooh Bear's best mate as well...

    That woman was ****ing nuts!

    It did for my siblings, though. They're all nuts, too!!!

    Brian Martin would have been far simpler, no.

    <laugh> I'm not really with it...and
    my brain applied predictive reading...so it was "Chairman". Possibly a song about Frank Sinatra or in honour of a short bloke who used to appoint and sack coaches on behalf of Spurs?

    Chairman, if we're ever in trouble
    Your casting vote counts as double...

    Mmmmm, nice!

    My Dad was determined to name me after him and his dad. I would have been John Thomas.

    It seems that there are endless amounts of us...

    3 cricketers (including a New Zealand international);
    a clothes designer;
    2 DJ's;
    A 'low brow' artist - he did a number of posters for The Cramps;

    The list goes on and on...

    ...at least those were his given names.

    Not sure where I happened across this either - I wasn't a big fan in the 80s but I rather like this too

    An article in The Guardian by John Harris about gig pricing. Yes, slag of Oasis and dynamic pricing, BUT, FFS did he have to do the...

    "...the best gig I ever went to cost £4."

    So ****ing what? Probably 3 of the best gigs that I attended cost less than half that...in a different time, where artists/bands got paid for selling records. Now, they don't. They earn from merch and gigs, which have proper security, etc...

    Even bands, with real concern for the fans, have to price gigs in the modern world. Free festivals are a thing of the past. If you want cheap/free gigs, go to a pub, mate...you'll be stunned rigid how much a pint costs.
