Yeah, he says it’s because he’s worried about the safety of himself and his family. They’re genuine concerns (not mine) that dangerous people will go after them and I don’t think not naming them will affect the decision on his parole.

Only a few years back in jail he was heard using the same racist language that was used the night of the murder. He clearly hasn’t changed and never will. He’ll be refused parole on that basis and rightly so.

Mr Russell Flint KC asked Mr McCann why they did not support a DNA test, following calls from Julia Wandelt's "supporters" for one to be carried out.

"There's three reasons," Mr McCann said.
"We didn't believe she was Madeleine, we'd been reassured by the Metropolitan Police following their investigations within Poland she was who her name is.
"Lastly, it's not our responsibility to do a DNA test, it's a matter for investigative forces."

The McCanns did not discuss a DNA test "until after her arrest", the court was told.
"We didn't think there was any doubt she was not Madeleine," Mr McCann said.

Mr McCann responded: "To be honest, no."

I am a tad surprised after nearly two decades that they've never had a DNA test. Although having said that, I can't think what use it would be, beyond this stalker.

Btw I don't think for one minute the girl is who she thinks she is, but I like the questions in the sense it enables us to measure the replies of the McCanns, because let's be honest they are always under suspicion around their part in all this with no body ever found...even if their part is neglect rather than anything more sinister.
