I think the mistake with the link in the OP comes from the fact that the article about our young artist has a url ending in 2281670_2547290 and the West Ham article ends in 2281670_254729. Clearly it was meant to link to the mosaic article.

The bandwagon effect is a well documented form of groupthink in behavioral science and has many applications. The general rule is that conduct or beliefs spread among people, as fads and trends clearly do, with "the probability of any individual adopting it increasing with the proportion who have already done so".[1] As more people come to believe in something, others also "hop on the bandwagon" regardless of the underlying evidence. The tendency to follow the actions or beliefs of others can occur because individuals directly prefer to conform, or because individuals derive information from others. Both explanations have been used for evidence of conformity in psychological experiments.

If disliking someone for taking the piss out of the disabled is a bandwagon then its a bandwagon I'm happy to be riding.

point is nobody would have bat an eyelid but because one person reacts everyone else feels the need to.. and the fact everyone jumped on the lad soon as someone else posted a link we didnt even know if it was the original... nobody asked questions they took it as gospel. this site is slowly growing a mob mentality, its happening all over the forum.

sure if it is how ppl are thinking the guy has acted like a nob... doesnt give everyone else the right to start acting like nobs.

This! I'm gonna jump on your little bandwagon here and say that the people on this forum seem to be getting either much easier to antagonise or are just all plain following what one another says.

As someone's whose sister could no doubt be described by ****s as a '*****loid', I have to say this is an absolute brilliant display from the club.

Art is one of the best ways for a person to express themselves, helped greatly by the fact there is no 'right way' to do it and is a great way for a person with a disability or mental limitations to get a sense of accomplishment.

This lad's mosaic is something anyone would be proud of, fair enough it may have took it a little longer but the way the club have really rewarded his efforts and gone a little extra way to thank him (most of the time it'd just be a standardised letter) is fantastic.

His work is now a part of NUFC, respect to him. Hopefully it encourages other people to have the confidence to take on projects such as this. <ok>

    your point's just plain wrong

it clearly is the post he's referring to, because otherwise his original post doesnt make sense. also the post he originally linked is the exact same except with a digit lost off the end (clearly a c+p error)

Look at most bands where most of the time one of them has autism. It just shows that the OP is a complete and utter tool.

I can only speak for myself but I was a latecomer on this thread (page 3 I think). I read his opening post and then posted my own condemnation without reading the rest of the responses. I then went back to read the rest.

I think you are doing alot of decent posters a disservice by suggesting they are not genuinely annoyed or disgusted at mrtiotes comments.

Maybe you should suggest what you think a reasonable response would be to such a callous verbal attack on a handicapped person?
