Thanks for the feedback and opportunists cashed in. But it was the reaction of the financial markets that finished her.

I’ve just found out that OS is banned from this thread .

Was he abusive , threatening, or just putting his point across strongly ?

If it was just the latter he should be allowed back .

He was given plenty of warnings about his antics on here - constantly baiting people, wumming etc. We even closed this thread for a while and gave everyone a warning before re-opening it that permanent bans would be issued. So no, he won't be allowed back.

I seem to remember one of the right wing posters accusing everyone on the left of being a nonce, can't 100% remember if that was Os or if that was the specific incident that caused the thread to be locked (can't be bothered to dig), but just as an example of state of where the conversation was going, something needed to change and it is a much better state now imo, even if there is still robust disagreements from time to time as you would expect with politics.

No, none of those. He was banned for "lowering the level of debate", not a specific issue just the mob didn't like what he was saying. Lowering the level of debate, on this thread? Joke.
The mob had already tried to organise a boycott, when that failed they took it in turns to bait him into saying something that would get him banned. That failed too, so they banned him anyway. School boy behaviour.
The abuse was a two way thing. Plenty was regularly sent his way but none of it resulted in a permanent ban.

The truth is, dissenting voices aren't welcome. Those voices are usually met with a pile-on because some can't cope to views different to their own and the method of dealing with that these days is to silence the dissidents.

We have a poster who spouts disgusting comments. His extreme views, although not shared openly by the rest are largely in line with left thinking. He has been able to suggest that all Jews are viable targets wherever they are living. He hasn't stopped there and has added more disgusting comments since. He is still allowed to post on here. Why?
His suggestion came to fruition last week and his weak condemnation of the murders included, as you would expect, a nod at justification. And that is lowering the level of debate.

I'm sorry but that's nonsense. As a previous Tory voter, I have often been a dissenting voice to most people on this thread but know how to keep a debate civil even when I share completely different opinions to other people.

As for last bit, I know exactly who you are referring to and while I think his opinions are somewhat strange at times, at no point have they been "disgusting" or ban worthy.

Os was permanently banned because he kept breaking the rules set by us after Chilco and I made it perfectly clear permanent bans would come in for people who kept **** stirring, name calling and generally trolling. Jabbo has been banned multiple times but his bans were temporary because they came before the final warning.

Don’t forget No7 was also banned for a time, so in no way was Os singled out.
He wummed and baited his way to a ban, we all read the warnings on here…..he chose to ignore and continue.

I would expect that after a point he was trying to get a ban to prove some kind of point. You know the “can’t say anything these days” type of point

I’d like to think that even disaster capitalists know you can’t let the whole thing crash and burn. Because then there is nothing to milk in future. Destroy one of the most established economies in the western world and then what? There aren’t as many with the same level of setup. And the “city of London” is still a prominent thing for a reason.

Robert Jenrick says he has walked through areas of Birmingham without seeing ‘another white face’, going on to explain that he doesn’t mean it as a race thing but a cultural one about integrating. What has colour to do with integration? Does he feel the same about all the little white villages?

Fareham would be his paradise then as there are very few Afro-Carribean or Asían faces and contrasts quite sharply with a town a mere 50 miles away, Reading!

So is Fareham failing at integrating?

He should go to Winchester. The only time you see a black face there is if you are visiting the hospital.

It is sad that those areas have failed to integrate better!

He certainly seemed to take more than he dished out .

Oh well , if the mods chose to ban him , there are other sites for him I expect .
