Of course they will! No party ever stays popular with the public indefinitely.

I think that the Conservatives are finished. The will finish behind the Liberals in the next election. Defeat Reform and the election is Labour's to lose. The Tories will not bounce back.

If the Tories are indeed finished Reform will replace them. There will always be an opposition party that has decent public support. I suspect the Tories will bounce back at some point when people realise that Reform is simply not a viable party to run the country. It will likely take them winning the next GE for that to happen though.

Ultimately the vast majority of voters in this country are centre right. Not only will there always be a Tory party in some guise or other, but it would be undemocratic if there wasn’t.

Biden falling down the stairs was a massive meme for a long time after it happened and still gets used regularly! No surprise that the Twitter president is very aware of it.

I bet a few of the women (not naming names) in the whitehouse have had a lot "uplifted." Probably some of the men as well, ha, ha.

100% agree but you could extend that outwards to the welfare system how it is now where the genuine needy get shafted because everybody gets an Oprah these days for all sorts of spurious illnesses!

Its not a policy that they will need to enact, even if a miracle happened and they recovered in time, because there will be no jobs for first time folks by 2029. lol.

This is what every government of this modern "third way" has done every time anyway. free money all round, handouts for headaches and stress, tax credits for top ups instead of employers paying a market rate...........governments for 30 years+ have developed this system of welfare, not to help those that need help but to give out money to anyone in exchange for a vote.

On the flip..............Hmmm...........Tory party appeals to its ageing voters by offering big lump sum to the youngsters............that are very vocal in their hatred of the older generations! Hmmmm. vote winner there. lol

Is it even a straight 5k? A 5k tax rebate is different isn’t it? You’d get it at the end of the tax year? So cash flow might still be an issue. You’d actually need the 5k and it sounds like you get it after buying the house not just stating your intention? Unless I’ve misunderstood

Its a throwaway policy from a party that will never get to enact it. Lib Dems use this "free hit" style all the time...............and only got caught out once, when they went into coalition in 2010. Its very easy for parties that have no chance in the next election to propose anything because after the election, new leader, new direction, discard policy of the previous setup.

I agree with the general thrust of your comment but I watched the Green Party political broadcast last night and was well impressed with Zack Polanski

I watched the Green Party broadcast aswell. Like a Labour Party Broadcast from the early 60s. An earnest left wing politician walking the back streets of some poor neighbourhood. Not one mention of any green policies. Not one mention of how tackling the climate change and promoting social policies are mutually compatible. It could have been made in black and white. In fact not one mention of green polcies at all. Lets save the planet and provide a decent enviroment for our grand kids by not addressing the issues.
