So another break when the season’s barely started. Am I alone in feeling intense disappointment when the PL fixtures end on Sunday evening and we have the best part of 2 weeks to wait for another game? And I am alone in caring little about how England will scrape past inferior opponents unconvincingly in the intervening period?
Your next fixture's Liverpool. Be careful what you wish for! They have been **** though, to be fair. Very fortunate results given the performances. Tough run of games coming up, too.
Gives them time to regroup. And for Utd to implode. A break would certainly seem to be of greater benefit to them to try to end their recent cycle of defeats. I can’t think of a solution to the scheduling problems (ditto cricket, which has similar issues), but surely there must be some better way? Next year has no October break, but an extended September one, instead: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq5jl744pwpo Still ****, obviously.
