4-0 HT, Brown got his brace. I can see him getting the nod over Akintola if he carries on soon. Bar the Bristol City game and Southampton he’s struggled so far
I think the future is bright when you look at our U21s. Brown, Shehu, Moore, McArthy, Tinsdale, etc. Also Zane Myers out at Scarborough and Jagielka scoring goals for fun at U18.
Briwn made a very positive impact preseason and hasn’t put a foot wrong in the 1st team. He seems to have knuckled down since going back to the 21’s and Akintola v Watford in particular (followed by Browns performance today) should have given Jakitovic plenty to think about!
Given his pres season performances not sure why he is not on the bench or getting some minutes in the first team.
Too much competition. We have a bench full of senior players even with the injuries we have at the moment. To get onto the bench he'd probably have to displace Palmer or Akintola, or wait for us to stack up a few injuries at once.
Grimsby’s academy is actually pretty good, but they’re hamstrung by the fact that they’re Category 3 status.
I have watched the U10 a few times this season .There is no one pulling up trees to make big club interest . There is a lad in the U8 who is quality though .
