Much as I am a Williams fan , Williams cars were illegal and JV has put his hands up . What I find inexcusable is the fact that the Williams testing equipment must be calibrated wrongly , and this simply shouldn’t happen . As was mentioned earlier , they had an issue with the floor last year . They had to hacksaw a bit off . Surely these are basic needs ?
I'm guessing and hoping it's just the last bit of transitioning from the severely underfunded team to one that can move up the grid. When JV said they had been using excel spreadsheets for planning, keeping track of build, development, parts etc I think we learned a little of how underfunded they had been.
Some sites bang on about how under funded they still are . Williams wanted to spend £100 Million on upgrading systems facilities etc , but were only allowed to spend £20 Million !
Since the summer break I've missed the first 20 mins as I think the GP starts an hour later than it has. How did Norris get passed Piastri, T1?
Think it was t2 or 3. Got a slightly better start than Oscar, Max start not great, so Max covering Oscar, Lando got close on t1, tried on inside next corner but tagged Max damaging front wing, and thus pushing his team mate wide as he barged past, banging wheels.
If team orders go against either driver today , they wi And we're off! George Russell has covered off the threat of Max Verstappen and leads out of Turn One. Lando Norris has been brave and has now made up two places by getting his elbows out, while his team-mate Oscar Piastri has dropped behind Norris and is now fourth. But is Norris carrying front wing damage now? Lando Norris has got a slightly broken front wing endplate by getting past Oscar Piastri, let's hope that doesn't affect his race. A good start from Norris, a difficult one for Piastri. Team radio - Piastripublished at 13:11 BST 13:11 BST "Yeah, I mean, that wasn't very team-like, but sure. As a team, we can see Lando has to avoid Verstappen, so we won't take any action during the race, so we will review it after the race." Piastri: "That's not fair. I am sorry, that's not fair. If he has to avoid another crash by crashing into his team-mate, then that's a **** poor job of avoiding." In haven't seen it , but consensus seems to be it was fair enough .
It's what Max would term hard racing I think looking at the camera views after it was unfortunate that Lando and Max came together. Lando had to move right to avoid an accident but he was ahead of Oscar so Lando had the corner position.
So Stroll has done 39 laps on softs, I wonder if it's worth Williams risking softs for the final stint as lower fuel and less laps to go?
What happened to Charles, Lewis and Alonso, went to let dog out, came back and Charles in front (guess swapped back - fair) but how was Lewis 34 seconds behind Charles?
Yeah, and Oscar won’t have known the contact with Max made Lando’s car bop over into his. He’ll have thought it was just a barge, hence his irritation.
