The last time Ipswich Town beat Norwich City was on April 19, 2009, with a 3-2 victory at Portman Road in the East Anglian derby
The Town fans were pretty optimistic last time at their place, with some justification, but failed. I don't see how they can fail this time round, barring a blinding performance by Vlad. Really not looking forward to this one.
Squad update following press conference: Potentially returning: (LB) Lucien Mahovo Risks: (CM) Kenny McLean - back problems (CAM) Emi Marcondes - hip problems Out: (LW) Papa Amadou Diallo - Quad injury and surgery required - 3-4 Months (CM) Anis Ben Slimane - Quad injury - 3-4 Months (CAM) Amankwah Forson - Hamstring injury - 2 months (LB) Ben Chrisene - Hamstring Injury - 3 weeks (CF) Mathias Kvistgaarden - Knee injury - 3 weeks (CB) Shane Duffy - Calf injury - 2 weeks
Over the intervening 15 seasons, if I calculate aright, the derby matches have been played in only six, including one year in which four were played, two being in the semi-final round of the Championship play offs. So, due to our several seasons in the EPL and Ipswich's sojourn in League 1 and solitary season in the top tier, the unbeaten run extends over 14 meetings.
This was an ambitious sales pitch at the planning session... please log in to view this image Edit: I should add their link. Take a look... https://www.ipswichfsf.co.uk/halfhalf-scarves
there's a family somewhere who would buy one of these. Glad to see the link clicks through to a decent cause though.
Staying with Fisher at LB. Was badly outplayed there against Albion. Thought Makama would start this one as well.
No other real option at the moment unfortunately. Mahovo and Schlupp are only fit enough for a cameo. Cordoba had a horror show when he shifted out there. McLean is more valuable in midfield. Although Fisher was completely done for the goal against Albion, I thought he did quite well other than that
