I wish But I know it sounds mental but given Still clearly wants a big man up top would he offer more than Downs?
Honest question here, do we have anyone in the academy that deserves a chance and fits the profile of the target man?
TBH I think Still needs to practice what he preaches now. He said he's always willing to adapt, now is the time to prove it. He needs to make a 4-2-3-1 work with out and out wingers with Archer through the middle. We have got the personnel to play that way. We sadly cannot rely on Stewart to stay fit or Downs to be effective.
Agree with this. The board spent big money, a lot of it on proven championship players, to fit that system. The 5 at the back keeps us tight but offers nothing going forward because players are all out of position. Still wanted the players for 4231, he got them, so make it work.
Agree with that however I’m keen to find out the extent of Ross’ injury because we need him (in any formation for me)
Small sample size but the games we've played with a back four have been our worst attacking performances.
Oh i agree. They've been our worst performances all round. But Still is the one that wanted to recruit players for that formation, so needs to find a way to make it work.
If we're playing with miniature strikers, we need players who can beat a man in the team, and that means Fellows and Scienza (for all Adarma's qualities, he's actually really not good at that). We also need someone who can thread balls through the channels, which means Azaz. Now that means either playing Adarma up top (which is horrid) or dropping Adarma (which seems mental at the moment). Therein lies the issue for WS right now. Some tough decisions to make.
