If we are going to have an off day we may as well have it at somewhere we probably didn’t expect to take points I suppose. Of course Man U aren’t having a great season but they still have quality players.

We are still in a learning curve and think RLB snd the players will have learnt a lot from yesterday and hopefully will put is in good stead for games coming up where we have more chance of gaining points..

    I think that's a very fair summary :emoticon-0148-yes:
Let's be honest, no one expected us to assemble a team to regularly challenge the top 6 sides, but we are showing signs of being able to hold our own against mid table sides which gives us a chance to stay up and continue to improve the team. We will have good days and bad days, I'm not going go get over excited about one or depressed about the other. We are making progress and overall we are doing OK.

Some excellent points mate, especially how RLB spotted the issue made changes early and changed the game. People saying Man Utd coasted in the second half!

I don't think they did, while we didn’t massively trouble them we should have had a pen, a bloke sent off for them with nearly 25 mins left to play, missed 2 that should have really scored and overall seemed pretty even in exchanges after the changes!

I can forgive the penalty, you don't see them given 8 out of 10 times (not denying it was a foul and should be given and would be anywhere else on the pitch but they just aren't!). But the yellow card for simulation when he is clearly fouled and VAR did **** all about it? You having a laugh? If they aren't there to correct turn a yellow for diving into a red for an actual foul he was a used of diving for what the **** are they there for? Red missed it but its plain as day when slowed down!

Both those decisions go the way we should have done and we are potentially 2-1 down against 10 men with a good chunk to play!

RLB and the lads will learn plenty from this defeat though! My God has Reinildo cost us with thay kick out, reckon we beat Villa with 11 and he is a miss yesterday. Aswell as Diarra like!

Shaw got away with loads of fouls that should have at least accumulated to a yellow but there were also one or two rhat were bookings in isolation!

He initially made only one change which was obvious to everyone watching , and really should have been at least two changes as we were so open with Amad having a field day down the right.

I thought Man Utd were a wolf in sheep's clothing yesterday, they were like a Championship side but with better players.

It was primarily hoofs from the keeper, long throws, endless fouls, baiting the referee, etc.

I'll look forward to the return game, at the SOL, where they won't bring their own referee and won't have Fernandes running the game.

RLB laid some bait for Man Utd that they didn't take and our full backs struggled to handle it ...

... it was a mistake but managers all over the PL are doing much worse, we'll learn from it.

Disappointing for me yesterday. I honestly thought we would get a result. We gifted them a 2 goal start imo with the lineup selected. Also some players just didnt get near their own level.

Second half better but I was never convinced we would score really. We seem to lack some real incisiveness in the final 3rd. At times we need to seem to see a pass but not play it. Particularly with our wide players. I look forward to Mundle being fit. He always excites me and has a bit of an X factor in his game. I want to see his aggressive attacking game and his defencive work is always good.

Dan B was my MOTM. Thought he was very good again. Deserves his place in the back line for me.

Break coming at a great time imo. Chance to reset for the coaches and take some stock. One or two mistakes from them yesterday and I am not sure they have yet got to grips with the combinations in the final 3rd. Time now to really work out some good patterns in that part of the pitch.

We’ll struggle to score goals away from home. Fixtures at the SoL absolutely vital, especially our next one!

I'd say we could set up, for that game, in a dozen different ways, and only ever win once or twice in every twenty attempts.

We're just not at that standard yet and all the tactics in the world can't change that.

Sadly, three players I feel would've helped our chances were all absent.

Having Reinildo, Diarra and Mundle available would mean we could've either coped more easily or set up differently.

I feel, at the moment, we're going into games looking for one of three things ...

... a clean sheet, a goal or a narrow victory, in that order, West Ham just bucked the trend.

I think RLB took a bit of a flier yesterday, don't think he felt comfortable and won't be repeating it any time soon.

Just didn't go our way yesterday. Thought we were a little bit too open early on. Utd are not all that IMO, but they like attacking space and we gave them a bit.

Didn't help having Stuart " Big Team" Atwell reffing mind. They got every decision going.

Fernandez throwing himself to the ground holding his face and getting Sadiki booked.

Casimero repeatedly looking at the ref for free kicks, and getting them.

Booking Traore after clearly getting nudged. Etc.

Bad day, but we'll have them, maybe a few things have gone out way in the last couple of weeks.

    We're okay.

Agreed. It was a rushed change that shored up the back but going forward it was neither one thing nor another. Should have either been ELF off (another poor game as a 10 btw) or Adingra and Traore both off and bringing another striker on to go to 5-3-2.

Chalk it up to experience I guess. For Reggie more than anyone.

'United certainly didn't 'coast in the second half'
Amad was dangerous, he had a decent game, but not great by any means 'cos he was given far too much space in the first half before Regis' changes (Reinildo wouldn't have given him such an easy time), and overall if we'd had fair officiating we would probably have had a better result.

As far as 'Man of the match' is concerned, nobody from 'United stood out (apart from Stuart Attwell), and only one did for us . . . . Roefs 'kept us in it' and deserves that accolade :emoticon-0148-yes:

Just been on youtube you would think Manure had won the ****ing league by beating us.
They had a thirty minute spell where we give them to much space.
One game they win and all of a sudden they are world beaters.
What I saw was a team that are fickle they will be back to square one when they next get a drubbing Amorim out etc etc

thought it an odd choice to change the wingers considering man united weakness are that midfield two and the space between them and the centre centre back

thought we'd have packed the centre more, similar to villa at home.

yesterday wont determine our season and the fact the second half was chalk and cheese was testament to the changes made by RLB.

I want to utilise Mukieles pace and power in the final third, maybe get Hume left back for Wolves.
