Bear in mind one of those defeats was when we were decimated by illness.

Someone has described Wilder on BBC comments as 'the acid reflux of football management' and I genuinely cannot think of a funnier or better description of him. Hat tip to the funny ****er who typed that out!

Good win...No major gripes....Other than Amir giving them a gilt edged chance, which thankfully he couldn't take....I wish we'd cut out the silly passes and the brain farts. But that's football.

Random moan but has the art of the clearance disappeared these days? Lost count of the number of times we whacked it straight to one of theirs or wildly hacked at it, going straight up or backwards or **** knows where. Not just today either.

Our current top scorer has already equalled last season’s top scorer, by the way. The current head coach has already beaten the home win record of one of last season’s head coaches and is one off equalling the other’s.

I think we will be mid-table come the end of the season. We’re not consistent enough and there will be games that frustrate the **** out of us but I went to every home game last season and it felt like a chore. I’m actually excited to watch City this season. The head coach seems a solid bloke who has a good relationship with the players and he’s honest about his own mistakes. The squad seem more positive and likeable even though quite a few of them were here last season. My opinion of Giles has changed completely. The coach and players seem able to respond positively to adversity on and off the pitch. Preston on Tuesday night was an example of that after the shocking first half.

I agree, which is a huge credit to the players and the coaching staff after the mess of the summer.

The flip side is that we've gone from having one of the best defences in the league to now having one of the worst. It's more enjoyable to watch but we were a mid-table side under Selles, and we're a mid-table side under SJ.

I don't disagree, but last season was a bloody chore. I didn't mind Selles as much as most but it was hard to feel anything about our performances.

I'm enjoying watching us this season - and as Kalman said its a team with more appealing players in it, even some that were here last year are more enjoyable to watch this year than last (Coyle, Slater and Giles for example).

Agree with everything, but esp Palmer, did not miss him at all.

I feel like there’s a lot waiting to click. Last season was dire and went from bad to worse really. There is real potential in this team and we’re stung by silly errors by and large. Last season just felt hopeless.

I'm in E4. Looked like a penalty from 60 yards away. Confirmed when I saw the reply on Telly in Clarendon.

Not a classic by any stretch, but probably the type of performance we needed. To grind out a win against a very good side and the manner we did it, proves that we can execute such a game plan and performance if needed.

The back 5 were very good, and particularly Egan, Hughes & Pandur who had their best games this season IMO.

I think the midfield balance looks better with Slater in it for his energy, and with Lundstrom going off and Amir taking his place, it sort of proves that the 2 are very similar, and playing together are just too alike.

Great to see Akintola get his first goal, I thought he had a reasonable game. McBurnie worked his socks off and was unlucky not to get his goal.

Nice to see Crook's back on as well as Ajayi, the injury front is starting to look a bit better.

Not a bad start to the campaign, we've had a few tough fixtures and look competitive, with Belloumi and Millar back up to speed, and Matazo to also come back hopefully things are looking brighter.

We defended pretty well today. Bar the one that hit the post and the penalty I didn’t often feel they offered much threat - they have parachute payments and therefore excellent players, they will have a few attempts.
