    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - Swansea.com Stadium
    Date - 4 October 2025
    Kick off - 3pm

Following their battling 2-1 away win over Blackburn Rovers, next up for Alan Sheehan’s Swansea squad is a tough looking home match against one of the pre-season automatic promotion favourites, Leicester.

On Tuesday evening, Blackburn’s home struggles continued as Goncalo Franco's sparkling volley and a cool Liam Cullen finish saw Swansea City come from behind to win at Ewood Park.

Rovers gave themselves hope of a first victory on their ground this season when Todd Cantwell headed Valerien Ismael's team in front.

The goal came via Blackburn's one genuine chance in the first half, as Ryan Alebiosu's deflected cross looped on to the head of Cantwell and his effort bounced through Ben Cabango's legs and into the net.

Swansea might have levelled when Cameron Burgess headed narrowly wide, and the equaliser came just before the break when a patient passing move ended with Josh Tymon picking out Franco at the far post.

The Portuguese midfielder finished in style, crashing the ball back across goal and into the far corner.

Cantwell was denied a second goal by Vigouroux as Blackburn upped the tempo early in the second period, before Alan Sheehan changed his entire forward line and was rewarded when two of his four attacking substitutes combined to put Swansea in front.

After Augustus Kargbo's loose touch, Adam Idah drove down the right before rolling the ball across the edge of the area for Cullen to guide in his first goal of the season.

Blackburn asked questions of Swansea late on, with Yuki Ohashi's header forcing a diving save from Vigouroux before Cantwell's somewhat optimistic appeals for a late penalty - after Burgess' sliding challenge - were turned down.

That same evening, Wrexham’s record signing Nathan Broadhead helped Phil Parkinson's side come from behind to take a point at King Power Stadium and extend Leicester's winless run to four games.

The Foxes looked as though they were heading for their first victory in a month after Wales midfielder Jordan James' first-half goal put the hosts on top.

But, after three successive draws for the Foxes, Wrexham capitalised on Leicester anxiety and lack of cutting edge as Broadhead pounced with 13 minutes remaining.

It was the Wales forward's first Championship goal since making a £7.5m move from Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window.

The Swans first played the Foxes in December 1914, with Leicester having dominated the overall match record since that first fixture, winning 21 of the 41 games, losing 11 with 9 draws.

In the corresponding fixture the season before last, Leicester ran out comfortable 1-3 winners:

Turning to tomorrow, the match will be a decent indicator of the Swans’ chances of promotion success this season - it’s not a must win game, per se, but it will be a good gauge of how good a team we are….

In some respects, I’d be happy with a point, but I have a sneaky feeling that we will run out 2-1 winners. <cheers>

Great to get them tied down with long term deals.

Onto the game, difficult one will be happy with a draw. 1-1

Absolutely. I'm not sure what to think at the moment. While I'm not convinced with what the tactics are yet we are doing ok and with a bit more rub could be right up there. It's still very early in the season but I'd really not like to see us lose (obviously) as momentum is huge.

I am looking forward to this one, it really is a big test for us, I thibk if we get it right we could get all three points, but i have a feeling its going to be a draw, so I am going for a 2-2

David Webb will be the man in the middle for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Leicester City at the Swansea.com Stadium this afternoon.

So far this season, Webb has overseen six matches handing out a total of 18 yellow cards and one red.

On Saturday, he will be assisted by Andrew Fox and Matthew McGrath. Ollie Yates will be the fourth official.

Will do well not to lose this one I feel.
Swans 1 - 2 Leicester is what I'm thinking, but as usual hope I'm way off and that we put in a great perfomance and come away with any sort of win.

I know we are well capable of beating them - especially at home , just not confident in our form (or am I confident, in that our form says we should lose ?)

I agree to not being confident in our form. I'm not sure it says we should lose though, as we're masters of our own downfall at the moment. It's a coin toss for me at the moment. It appears to me there's no solidity to our style, whatever that's supposed to be. No identity I suppose. Sheehan should really be starting to get a handle on this (if he can).

0 - 1. That ball went out to the wing, the whole team were huddled in the centre.

    HT 0 - 1

I missed the first 12 minutes but Leicester looking comfortable at half time. We've huffed and puffed after the goal but no real threat.
