FDR was a political giant amongst pygmies, one of the 20th Century's great men.

Churchill was the right man for his time, saw Hitler for what he was long before anyone else did, and rightly formed an alliance with Stalin despite objections from all quarters (especially America). But as a peacetime politician he was a disaster.

Breaking news on Not606 as Fosse and Archers debate the merits of FDR, Churchill and Adolf Hitler.

Reports suggest that the head of Hamas' military wing in Gaza has rejected the latest (and most widely-supported) peace plan, due to the fact that it " was designed to finish Hamas, whether the group accepts it or not, and so is determined to fight on".

I hope this proves once and for all that for Hamas, dead Jews are more valuable than live Palestinians.

Watched the first few mins and well, yeah. But you do have to take anything from Eyal Yakoby with a pinch of salt so I’d be interested if a longer version of this is out there.

He’s a propagandist. A bucket against the ocean of the opposite propaganda but nonetheless. Interesting clip though and the selfie cruise are at best ridiculous and at worst dangerous.

Indeed, propaganda on both sides even though I wouldn't share your bucket and ocean analogy.

The Flotilla ships are a PR stunt though. I get it, they are highlighting the blockade that Israel has imposed on Gaza. But they are lucky they aren't just getting blown out of the water a la Trump and the Venezuealen fishermen.

Just get the aid into the people who need it and end this inhumane blockade on food and medical supplies.

Rochester Cathedral is ok but not as nice as Canterbury, although Rochester Cathedral is within a stones throw of Rochester Castle...

@brb You’ve just reminded me it’s about this time of year that they have the light show on at Durham Cathedral. It’s brilliant to see, I’ll try and get some pics of it.

I think it's great where Cathedrals across the country stage various events now, Rochester Cathedral even started bottling up their own wine not that many years back, probably stole the idea from Del Boy.

I have a very vivid memory of being there when I was around 8 years old. Standing next to my Granddad in the grounds outside. He used to smoke a pipe and I remember smelling burning hair and then an excruciating pain on the top of my head.

He'd puffed on his pipe and a bit of lit pipe baccy and popped out and landed on my noggin lol

I remember him just quickly brushing away at my hair and still puffing on his pipe <laugh>
