If that's true I can't see it going down well at Forest. Getting rid of Postecoglou but replacing him with Martin would be like cutting off your foot because you want to cut your toenails.

There's definitely something out of kilter at the moment.

Some supporters seem to be winding themselves up, losing their heads and putting pressure on their managers.

So many teams look jittery, Man Utd, Villa, Forest, Wolves, Burnley, etc and, as you say, every little helps.

That is so incredible, so fantastically out there, so wildly mental, it could even be true.

It can't be of course. But if it was, I would salute Martin. I've always had a real soft spot for a good con man, the kind who could sell a gullible American tourist London Bridge.

You would just have to stand back and admire him, once he'd got off the taxi paid for him by the supporters up there.

 

Same with the players. If one or two of them have storming seasons, the door will be getting knocked on .
