Just watched the interview with the blades manager, I’ll be honest I wasn’t too impressed with what he said about Ollie our glorious new number 9, he should have a sheff united shirt on and quite a bit more. I’m wondering if he was trying to get into Ollie’s heed a bit. Apparently Ollie offered to basically go on trail with them to prove his worth during the summer window after his contract with the Spanish team had terminated. Oh I do hope he puts a Cpl past them on Saturday… wipe that sneaky smile off that twats face.
Hopefully the Blunts will keep their poor form going. I suspect Slater will come in, in place of Amir. If Crooks and Ajayi are fit enough to start, I'd go with them. Maybe this would look okay Pandur Coyle Ajayi Hughes Giles Slater Lummy either Darko/Crooks Gelhardt Mc Burnie Joseph/Millar
Chris Wilder on Oli McBurnie "He should have a red and white shirt on in my opinion. He was available, there was always talk with Kieffer and Kieffer going, we all realise horses for courses and different forwards I've always gone with - link players in Callum and Gus, stretch players in terms of Tyrese, but always for us a number 9 in the building will give us the different options. There was always a chance Kieffer would go especially when the deal was available and Kieffer wanted to go and the new manager didn't feel he was part of the plan. Good bit of business by Steve [Bettis] and Kieffer got an extended deal and a couple more quid - not being critical of him because he contributed to our 92 points last season. I would've always been looking for a number 9 and Oli was available, he's somebody who I'm in contact with regularly, I'm a fan of him as a player and a personality. There's always criticism of Oli by certain really small sections of our support, which I feel there is criticisms of everybody by small sections of our support, but the contribution he made to the 9th placed season, getting the team to a playoff semi final, getting the team back up, getting the team to an FA Cup semi final, contributions as a culture setter in the changing room as a player and a person.... Love him to bits as a lad, love him to bits as a player, and he should have a Sheffield United number 9 shirt on at this moment. I know Steve Bettis tried to get him in and he offered to the manager off his own back to come in preseason and show what he had but there wasn't an enthusiasm for that to happen and he had Ipswich Town and other options to go to and Hull City made him a deal that he wanted to take. I'm sure, and I'm not being disrespectful to Hull, but the affinity and affection he has for this club, for him to want to come in preseason and do basically a trial to see what he's about I think shows his desire to come here. But that's gone and we're seeing what he's doing now."
When Liam Millar slams home our second goal on Saturday, midway through the second half after a mazy run, it will be Hull City’s 4000th goal scored in league matches at home (excluding play-off ties).
