Of course. Very sensible view and imo on the money. I've said so from the off but some are getting all defensive because he wears red so you cant even look at what he is doing and say a word without this reaction. He cant just keep on playing form the start and sturggl8ng as it hurts his confidence. My view is thst a good intense 30minute burst agaisnt a more tired opponent can help more than a 60minite struggle.
The trouble is Macca isn't up to full speed either, think midfield is going to struggle again against Chavs.
Until he gets used to the league, I think Wirtz could be a good impact sub, to come on with a burst of energy that we've needed in most games so far.
Again, I don't think anyone is in denial, it's just that they are considering a different solution to yours. I've never seen a player improved by not playing - unless they're unfit or knackered and just need a rest. Gomez's disastrous performance recently being a case in point. Sometimes a player needs to be dropped to help the team, but from his personal point of view it's better to keep playing. He needs to mould himself to his team and them to him. Slot has to decide what is best for the team. Perhaps managing Wirtz's minutes might help or might hinder, we can't tell from the limited amount we see.
30 mins is not preventing him from playing. Struggling through 60mins and doing very little is not really helping anything either.
Robbo didn’t get a look in until he was ready. I can remember a few of us, myself included, bemoaning the fact that he wasn’t playing more regularly. Klopp was right, obviously reality is that most of us are too emotionally involved to make decisions about who should play and when subs should happen, especially when we don’t watch the players train and look at all of the data and know who’s carrying knocks….i could go on…. I think I’ll just support Slot and bemoan his decisions in equal measure. Makes life easier being a normal fan
