They were bang average. They still had it in them to score a handful of goals though but they didn't. How would you analyse how we stopped them? (Other than saves.)

I counted three separate occasions last night when he pressed, won the ball (he's actually quite good at that, a bit like Ford), but then promptly lost it, either by dallying on it or simply under/overhitting a straightforward pass.. Yes, he has unique ability and vision, and yes, his work rate is phenomonal, but I thought we were getting another Modric or Coutinho - at times he's giving mre Bruno Cheyrou vibes, tbh, in that the skill is all there, but he seems to be playing a game where he thinks he can't be tackled. Still plenty of time with him, but MITO is right - he should be coming off the bench atm - he hasn't earned a starting place. Only Ekitike (and, perhaps, Kerkez) has.

I can see flashes of brilliance with him and he did have a very good understanding with Ekitike in earlier games but I'm wondering whether Slot isn't using him in his best position (tbh I don't know where that is because I didn't watch him until he came to us) or whether Slot is persisting with him in order to play him into form. The only way to improve is to keep playing.

They did some basic things amd probably couldn't beleive their luck thet we coughed up the ball so tragically right in front of our goal.

I mean some of the stuff was bordering on ringing the match fixing police.

The point being is we either fouled after giving the ball away tragically or alisson saved us.

That's about it. the thing they did was basic. Thry actually got on the back of whoever it was dropping deep towards the cbs and applied pressure and the stays narrow knowing g we would also stay narrow.

None of that is rocket science.

Their two cms was tosh. Gundogan couldn't get about. Their cbs were trash bilut we couldn't get a shot as we were dire.

We played so so slowly out from the back with no urgency at all.

I bet they couldn't beleive their luck.

He’s also created more chances in the league than any other player this year. Should have a few assists and was unlucky with effort last night that keeper saved.

Exactly. Chance creation is far superior than assists when judging an individual player. Assists requires a teammate to do their job too, chance creation doesn't.

Some folk need to see the big picture and stop being all defensive about their shiny new player :)

Wirtz is constantly almost there. A perennial state of almost being in the right place, almost getting to a ball, almost getting a shot off.

He was miles off the press last night and the chance was made look a chance due to a keeper Hollywood's a simple enough block as there was no pace on it.

You are so busy being defensive aboit your shiny new toy you are not listening to what's actually being said for the good of the team right now and the good of wirtz long term.

He is currently too easy knock off the ball and trying too hard so he needs a spell coming into games where the pace has slowed up and he can give it a blast.

Or perhaps some people just see problems and their solutions differently?

Nah, just fans being defensive as per.

Next route is call whoever says anything about wirtz negative or a pessimist etc etc.

Especially when pundits who raise the Ireland of lfc fans not matter what is said stsrt saying it.

Rooney said the same, wirtz shouldn't be starting so obviously that manc/bitter.must be wrong eh?

Tbh I think the Wirtz issue is on Slot. Personally I think it's a better idea to ease him into the team on the left and rotate with Gakpo, but for reasons possibly relating to not trusting Frimpong, he seems to want to play Szoboszlai at RB.

Wirtz has created the most chances of any PL player so far this season; others not finishing those chances are the only reason he doesn't have a assist to his name yet. It takes two to make an assist, pass, etc

We had a lot of players come and go, had two deaths to overcome and had a tough run fixtures to open the season with.

The only 'crazy' thing to happen so far this season is we somehow found ourselves 5pts clear after five games. Unfortunately, this was created a 'set up to fall' scenario; some spectators just seem to be falling quicker and harder

Name 3 chances created by wirtz you would day are massive misses by his team mate?

Just before you shift the blame from 1 red shirt to another like

(It's 21 chances apparently, you.must have 3 in mind here)

I wasn't shifting the blame anywhere (and if I was, they're also new players settling in) , nor did I say they were big chances. Doesn't change the fact he's created the most still.

Maybe, just don't be incredibly impatient eh...

The lad is quality and constantly finds space / the holes. Only way it (the team) improves is by playing together

Or you could just stick with your pre-written agenda and I'll stick to watching the actual football <ok>
