Seen a few suggesting that but it would take a shift from Howe to get away from 4-3-3 but he did try and move to 4-2-3-1 last night but I don't think Joelinton got the message properly or just naturally drifted back in to his LCM role. Would Big Joe be the one to make way for a CAM to come in as I don't think you can drop Bruno or Sandro.
We always seem to struggle in midfield without Big Joe though. And I think Ramsey will slowly replace him. Only way I can see Howe using 2 up front like that is with 3 at the back plus wing backs, which then means it's Gordon & Elanga/Murphy who most likely drop out of the starting XI.
Absolutely correct for me. Having a 5-3-2 would be really interesting; we seem really defensive in a 5-4-1, we haven't worked that out - it's supposed to work in more 3-4-2-1 apparently, but we don't have one '10' let alone two hence why we end up with a flat four in midfield and full backs rather than wing backs. Thiaw, Burn are both capable at full back so those two plus Botman should work, as long as we stick with three midfielders then switch to two up top. Not ideal as both Gordon and Elanga wouldn't play.
