Got to echo these comments in the 15 minutes or so he was everywhere both defensively and offensively, a new man! He has taken a lot of stick from this board and that is one of the reasons I have been singing his praises. Let's hope he keeps it going.
Watched the second half as it was live on BeinSports TBH we never looked like scoring which was galling as Oxford haven't kept a clean sheet all season Starting lineup should have been reversed with the finishing side, Frey is too slow and we looked far more dangerous with Saito Smyth and (i never thought it would say this but..) MaDsEN
I wonder if Madsen has a scrapbook for all the insults he’s received online. Incredible turnaround this season.
Agree Flanman. I was a critic and could see no way forward for Madsen. Happy to say that he and this management team have turned him around so far this season. If it continues Nourry owes JS for saving what looked a very poor purchase. Be very interesting to know what the catalyst has been in his performance. Long May it continue.
He plays a simple pass but seems to find players in loads of space. He'll be ****e Saturday of course
It seemed plain to me from the start that there was a good player in there, very comfortable on the ball and able to pick a pass. His lack of physicality last season made it harder and harder to support his inclusion, though. It's pleasing to see that this has been added to his game and people are now able to see that he can be a valuable asset.
I take nothing back from any post I posted about MadSEn last season, he was awful, there is an improvement this, he could still be better and I hope he keeps improving
I think the league position could be flattering and that a few fans are getting overexcited. I’ve enjoyed some of the football I’ve seen from us recently, it’s refreshing after the Cifuentes crab-ball they are all enjoying at Leicester. But we really haven’t dominated a game yet, just look at what Coventry are doing regularly, not just to us. We are the same number of points from the relegation zone as we are from the top of the table. Long way to go yet. Let’s see where we are after the next 4 games.
I don't take anything back, either. I was confident he was a better player than he was showing. His performances last season were very poor at times, but I think he's now beginning to show that my initial assessment was right.
I looked at the BBC match stats early in last night's game and our expected goals was 0.02 and Oxford's 0.01, very prophetic. Gary Rowett's sides always play ugly and we couldn't break them down. Write it off as one of those games. Bristol City will be far more testing on Saturday although Oxford thumped them last week...
