Still, good to see we've upgraded our defence from last season....

Also nobody seems to have noticed Amir doing his best impression of a garden gnome, and not moving an inch to try and close down the guy who got the ball from Pandur's clearance

Coyle, Hughes, Egan and Macca were our defence for large parts of last season.
Remind me, how many assists did Macca get? And how many times did he get subbed off to save further embarrassment or a sending off? (btw, I didn't mind Macca - a very honest player and a decent back up, but never a LB other than in absolute emergencies).
Jones v Egan? Seemed like the manager preferred Egan, but not much to choose tbf.
Ajayi is a step up from both. Hopefully he can now stay fit.

we're average 2 goals against us a game
macca should never be thought of as a lb, he played there as an emergency

i agree about ajayi, but its HUGE if

if he is fit, he will go to the african cup of nations in december anyway so will miss a month+ fit or not

Giles was our player last season. A non LB was preferred.

The 2 reliable centrehalves we sold have been missed. No use Ajayi being technically better if, as expected he's barely been fit.

Jones Vs Egan? Not much to chose?

    Where are Boro again?

No, hughes and ajayi for me. They played together in pre season and did well, as they did at Coventry.
Egan and Hughes just dont look a partnership, it happens.
As for the wingers, Joseph will continue to start as he works his nads off and does well, whereas akintola looks poor and we all want Geldhart in the middle and not out wide.
Unfortunately, Belloumi, is out, Ndala is out and Miller has only just come back from a very long lay off and bad injury.

    Fair enough.
But Akintola one wing, Joseph the other (with Millar, with an a, likely replacing Akintola).

Egan had 8 starts, Jones had 37. Not sure anyone prefered Egan over Jones?
