Thatcher and her Neoliberal cronies. Everything that is going wrong now can be traced back to them.

It was worse than that even. They knew, as everyone with the faintest idea knew, that as most businesses are small or medium in size, working on tight margins, that this move would cost jobs. It was ideological.

If they didn't know this, then God help them. It was Treasury doctrine, Reeves just mouths the words. But neither end up facing the consequences of their ideology.

Some of the brightest economic brains in the country could plot a course to navigate these rough conditions as shrewdly as possible but a layman like me can see Labour have enacted some very questionable policies. I just don’t get what their thinking is.

Labour making it even worse. You wouldnt have thought it possible would you. They are a complete shambles. I would back this Labour government to leave behind an even mess than the last Labour government. Only today has a report been published stating confidence of business leaders is at the lowest ever. The ex M&S boss claims serious disappointment in the first 15 months and a disconnect between what the govt says and what the govt do.

But lets just keep bleating about tories and believe that is enough. Labour have the biggest mandate to change the country and they are showing themselves as utterly and completely useless. They are on target to hand reform power. How bad do you have to be to do that. It is ridiculous on Starmers part. He is out of his depth and his closest MPs are too. I am relaxed though, Burnham is waiting in the wings. Dear oh dear...

I’m all for green energy, sustainability, etc. Right up my street and something I’m passionate about. Throw rewilding in there as well.

It’s the big economic policies where Labour are failing. It seems they/we have banked on achieving decent growth to make all the sums add up. The growth hasn’t come and everything is up in the air.

You imagine incorrectly. The fact is that no industry anywhere is more subsidised, more pampered than wind and solar.

The wind industry is a huge racket. Windmills imported from China, turbines imported from China. Very little work for UK workers at all, apart from the welders who have to do months work of work inside the structure to make them useable. None of them are built here. Not one.

The money is made by the " consultants" who persuade half wits in government to press on building more and more with virtually no storage.

"Green Energy" is a misnomer . All the windmills here, and most of them worldwide are made in China, most of them using coal fired power and coal fired furnaces. Without gas back up they are virtually useless as storage is not being built in step.

Today, over 44% of electricity was generated by gas. It is often more. Solar is not appropriate for this country at all, is very inefficient, ruinous to the environment in the extraction of the metals used and the panels have a short lifespan.

Without gas, nuclear and imported energy, we would be in the dark most of most days. And that, for a country with abundant natural resources which any other country in the world would exploit to the full.

Wind can work. There is nothing wrong with the idea. But storage should be built in step.

    They are not malicious.

But not one person in the cabinet, or anywhere near it has ever ran a business. Most of them have never had a job where wealth had to be created. They don't understand that money has to be earned, and that taxing relentlessly just doesn't work. It's never worked. It will never work.

That is what annoys me when Greens shouts about china building more solar and wind than all other countries. They do not tell you that they also open a new coal plant every other week as at this moment you cannot have one without the other.

Labour couldn’t make this country any more worse than the ****show it inherited.

People need to think of their kids and their kids kids before parroting right wing self interest nonsense.

The last time people ignored experts and took advice off Farage and Johnson we ended up with a fckd economy and record immigration. Il take my advice off countless scientists that the she self interest big business that is funding Farage and his ilk.

Same with the senior CS. That is where i agreed with the BLUE Labour group of getting rid of Mandrins with classical type degrees and replacing with ones with more normal degrees.

I think we know where the half wits are. The same ones that listened to Farage the last time and loot where that got us. Aye countless fully qualified scientists are wrong and Farage and his fossil fuel backers are right. You have it sussed, I should listen to you more.

Id take this fellas advice before Trump and Farage

So 52% of the country are half wits then. Must be great being so smug and above majority of the country. Also you do realise most scientists also need backer so many exaggerate their finding to get more money.

Well most voted for Brexit to stop immigration and that has went well. The experts told us what would happen.

A fckd economy and record immigration…if you voted for that to stop immigration you tell me if they are halfwits.

Then look at every country in the world which has natural resources. Find one which refuses to use them.

We may not all aspire to your Olympian level of intellect or knowledge, but it might be possible, just possible, that some might know a little about this subject.
