Down the gate tonight to see the legend Neil Warnock-Going to ask him plenty of questions any you guys want me to ask
Just spoke with Neil Warnock Spoke two or three times with Steve over the years. Would have loved the job Has great respect for city’s fans and he feels we have the same for him Wanted to sign Twine. The Lansdown suite is opened at both ends as really busy event.
Was a brilliant night well worth it One thing i forgot to mention he said he thought he may have been to strong for Steve-however he did say he thought they could have worked well together.
.....even though he claimed that Palace scored a goal against us that wasn't given (tee-hee) and he was right (tee-hee again).
Tell you Mike in the few minutes we had with him he was a true gent -an icon in championship management. We missed a trick not getting him on board here. He would have taken us up I have no doubt about it.
I’d love to have an opportunity to chat with Warnock over a beer. He’s a panto villain and I’ve booed him with everyone else. I have the utmost respect for the man though.
He said he has the respect of Bristol City fans and he for us. A manager city could have hired and shunned because he was so strong.
I think he was a cocky, mouthy, flamboyant git and bigheaded with it but there is no denying his record proves he had every reason to be, I always had a very high regard for him, I don't think Lansdown would ever have employed him. I wish him well and good luck in his retirement. My personal preference for managers of his generation would be a Sir Alec or Bobby Robson type but I also like L.S.Lowry art and Rock n' Roll, so what do I know.
no doubt he would have gotten us promoted, then found his level and either seen us relegated or been sacked, he just could not handle the premiereship,
