Norwich City welcome West Brom to Carrow Road in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday, October 1 (KO 7.45pm). City are still on the hunt for their first home win of the season having suffered defeat in each Carrow Road fixture so far. Liam Manning's side are currently 14th in the league, ahead of Tuesday night's Championship games, with the eight points they have amassed on the road. West Brom are eighth with 11 points but could have been coming to NR1 in third if not for Leicester's late equaliser in their Friday night clash. Squad update following press conference: Potentially returning: (LB) Lucien Mahovo - Likely to feature for the u21s before joining the first team squad Out: (LW) Papa Amadou Diallo - Quad injury and surgery required - 3-4 Months (CM) Anis Ben Slimane - Quad injury - 3-4 Months (CAM) Amankwah Forson - Hamstring injury - 3 months (LB) Ben Chrisene - Hamstring Injury - 7 weeks (CF) Mathias Kvistgaarden - Knee injury - 5 weeks (CB) Shane Duffy - Calf injury - 2-3 weeks Positive vibes!!! ON THE BALL CITY!!!
In that injury list it is not just the number of injured but also the length. Forson has already been out for a few weeks. Paper mache players?
In fairness we might be down to 2 months in Forson now I’m not too sure as Manning doesn’t like to be drawn on exact timelines. Manning said that the injuries are being looked into behind the scenes, changes were made over the summer but no solution clearly.
I think Manning should abandon his half time talk. Whatever it is that he says, we promptly concede at the resumption.
It's all to do with getting "the behaviours" right. We are assured they are "in heads". I guess the talks are designed to get them also into legs and feet ...........
A less cynical possibility is that he wants Cordoba's pace because he intends us to play on the front foot. Medic seems to be better at the backs to the wall stuff. A more cynical possibility is that Manning knows he can afford to lose tonight as long as he gets away with a draw on Sunday and he wants to make sure Medic is fit. I fully expect Sargent to go off early in the second half to make sure he's available for Ipswich.
I like the first reason better. Cordoba can make a pass. Perhaps he and Pelle will hook up well together to move the ball up the pitch. But then I'm a dreamer. Hat trick for Sarge!!
Here we go again. All I want is to see some kind of pattern of play, and a positive result (of course)
We’ve done well for the first 20mins. We have our best spell of play and create a well worked chance for Sargent. Then WBA go up the other end and score their first chance
