    Was a challenge certainly made difficult for the fact i was up in Swaledale with limited signal and a broken foot for the last few days!

    OK.... what historic Railway event happened yesterday?

    It was the 80th anniversary of the Bourne End rail crash near Hemel. Is that it? I'd never heard of it, but it was really dreadful. Many people killed or injured were returning from the war.

    200 years since opening of Stockton to Darlington ? I thought it was27th. sep.
    Or celebratiuons of 200 years of railway operations in UK - multiple events commemmorating this ?
